Ky and Connor’s wedding took place right in the middle of Toronto, starting at the Saint George Hotel and ending with a packed dance floor at the Gardiner Museum.

They got ready together, which immediately made the morning feel different from the usual wedding-day setup. There weren’t two separate rooms or a big reveal planned for later. They were together from the beginning, getting dressed alongside family, helping each other with ties, watches and the last few details before heading out.

Their matching grey suits had custom linings and labels inside, and there were a lot of small personal touches scattered around the room: their watches, Le Labo cologne, the invitation, and even a camera sticker featuring their dog.

Before leaving the hotel, we spent some time making portraits around the property. The darker elevator lobby, mirrored walls, bar and library areas gave us plenty to work with without having to go far.

From there, we headed outside and wandered through the neighbourhood for a while. Ky and Connor walked together through Philosopher's Walk to Queen's Park for a completely different look. Their families met us there as well, so we were able to get the family photos finished before the ceremony and leave the rest of the day fairly open.

The ceremony was held at the Gardiner Museum, with white pedestals, green and white florals and the huge windows overlooking the city. Guests arrived to a welcome table filled with photos, along with a custom mirror featuring Ky and Connor’s names.

Their dog also had an important role to play, dressed appropriately for the occasion in a tuxedo-style bandana.

Ky and Connor walked down the aisle together.

Their ceremony was personal without feeling overly formal. They read their vows from small notebooks, exchanged rings, laughed a lot, and at one point even stopped for a selfie with their officiant.

After the ceremony, everyone moved into cocktail hour among the museum galleries before heading into the reception.

The tables were lined with green glassware, colourful flowers and tuxedo-folded napkins, with another reference to their dog appearing on the custom “Buddy’s Bar” menu.

Then things got considerably louder.

Ky and Connor opened the dance floor with a first dance that included a fairly ambitious lift, followed later by a drag performance that took over the room. The performers moved through the tables, pulled guests into the show and had Ky and Connor laughing through most of it.

There was also a Live Doodles station for guests, plenty happening at the bar, and a dance floor that stayed busy for the rest of the night.

Before wrapping up, we took Ky and Connor outside for a few final photos on the patio of the Gardiner Museum.

It was a very Toronto wedding and, more importantly, a wedding that felt completely like them. Stylish, relaxed, a little unconventional, and a lot of fun.
