One question we are often asked is if we have any favorite venues. Of course, we do have some favorites, and here we would like to share one of them; The Great Hall.
Here at the Eastcore we love when our images have character, and though the people and guests at a wedding provide much of that character, the setting is also important when it comes to capturing the feel of a wedding. The Great Hall is a Toronto venue that has historic charm and lots of contrasting texture between its rooms.
The Main Hall is has the perfect mix of warm, open atmosphere, with just a touch of natural light. This provides us with the perfect light and contrast for our black and white photojournalistic style. The stage serves as the focal point, reminding everyone that this room has a rich history of entertaining. The mezzanine that overlooks the Main Hall gives us something that very few venues ever do; sweeping overhead views of the action below. With string lighting strewn from opposing sides, these lights overhang the Main Hall while providing a unique foreground element to our images.
In contrast to the Main Hall, The Drawing Room and Conservation Room both provide large north-facing windows, with white walls and classic moulding. These rooms are the perfect setting for lighter, airer photos. The natural light from the windows encourages us to capture candid images of guests from all angles. There’s even a large mirror that always promises the change to catch some great shots from its reflections.
