“In short, you guys honestly crushed it. “

I can’t even begin to express how phenomenal it was to have The Eastcore as part of our day. As someone who gets very uncomfortable when a camera is around, Jamieson and Matt managed to make us feel so unbelievably at ease. We honestly hardly even noticed cameras were there at all. They embodied the term “fly-on-the-wall”, capturing every little magic moment that you didn’t even realize happened. From getting ready to family portraits and an extra special “day of” edit for our first song, Jamieson and Matt pulled everything together and captured our perfect day. Words can’t describe they incredible job they did on our Feel Reel- distilling the energy and feel of the entire day into a beautiful video that we’ve been watching and sharing since non-stop. On top of it all, Jamieson and Matt are honestly just good people- they assisted in ways that were totally unplanned for and unexpected and were a delight to have around all day. We cannot recommend The Eastcore enough as photographers, videographers, editors, and people. Thank you for making our day magic.

Throughout the day Jamieson and Matt were extremely well coordinated and organized, even helping to direct us throughout the day when we were wedding frazzled ourselves! They were extremely prompt in response time and great with messaging. Upon meeting them in the chaos of a wedding show, their immediate sense of calm and ease were what drew us in and that feeling followed us throughout our experience with them and helped to make the day run as smoothly as it did.

As we stated before we cannot express how wonderful it was to work with The Eastcore. We have literally been beaming and have already had many family and friends discuss how blown away they were by the experience as well as asking for their contact info for their own weddings. In short, you guys honestly crushed it. We could not have asked for more. The Eastcore is the reason we will be able to fondly look back on these perfectly captured moments for years to come.

“OMG…There are no words!!!”

For a bride and groom who hate having their pictures taken – we went into wedding photography booking with little expectations, that’s the truth. We knew we hated the “same old, same old” posed shots (hate is a mild word in this case), but we also expected to take full responsibility for our awkward faces. We picked a wedding photographer based on THEIR style, and not based on what we expected to see with us IN the pictures. We met Matt at a wedding, immediately noticed the natural shots he was going for, and he introduced us to his Eastcore project – black and white signature style and candid captures – and we were sold immediately. We were both AMAZED and still can’t get over how much we loved the picture process, not to mention the end result! We both cried when we saw the feel reel, it made us relive the entire day over again. If there were a word for more perfect than perfect, that’s what I would use to describe it. We were so focused on what we “didn’t” want in our wedding photos that we never knew what we “did” want until we saw the end results. They knew us better than we did! Besides the photos, the entire experience was as pleasant as anyone could have imagined – Matt and Jamieson were calm, cool, collected and eased two anxious souls who hate the spotlight. The picture process was natural, they knew exactly what to say and we got compliment after compliment from the guests at the wedding about them. Both that they looked professional (They dressed accordingly, looked like a team, blended in perfectly) and that they were completely non-invasive. For an intimate wedding, this is extremely important! It’s a ceremony, not a press conference, and Matt and Jamieson exhibit a level of awareness not often seen in photographers (most just “do their jobs”), and are as passionate as it gets for what they do. I’m still talking about them, 3 months later. We both could not be more proud of our wedding photos. From it being the last and most reluctant thing on our bookings list when we were wedding planning, it has become the best thing we invested in.

If I haven’t gushed enough in the summary, here are some key points describing the day of experience:

– Personalized Professionalism (not just textbook professionalism)
– Passionate involvement
– Awareness of what to capture and what to pass on
– Independent (Important because we had so much going on!)
– Established trust with us beforehand
– Met us at our level (didn’t push their vision, but also imposed enough of one when we didn’t have any, knew that we needed a drink to feel comfortable, just GOT us!)
– Dressed accordingly, blended with the party, made themselves at home, were warm and welcoming… the list goes on
– this was important to us, as we wanted everyone to have a good time, including those “working”. The last thing we wanted was to feel anyone was “working for us”.

There. ARE. no. words. Literally. The final product exceeded our expectations beyond what we could explain. We were so happy with the experience that we actually said “even if we look like hams in the photos like we always do, the guys were great” So when we SAW the photos, we were slack jawed – we could not have imagined in a million years that we actually LOOKED LIKE THAT! And don’t even get me started on the feel reel which was just the most perfect compilation of the night’s moments. I could cry just talking about it..!

“Blown Away!”

They had experience and truly knew what they were doing. I knew this on the day of especially because my family has an artistic background in the film industry & you barely noticed the photographers because they were always moving. Meaning they are capturing SO many different angles, moments, lighting etc. And for a wedding, that is perfect. It goes by so fast, you need people to have your back and capture what you did & didn’t see! The online system they use is brilliant, it made things so easy before and after the wedding. Which is awesome because as any bride & groom knows, planning a wedding has it’s challenges– to say the least! We received our photos in the time frame they promised and a mini-video of the day! Which we appreciated because we knew they were busy being in the middle of wedding season.

On our wedding day & days leading up, they were punctual, professional and captured exactly what we were looking for (and then some!). They captured the essence of the day, the magic in the small moments & big moments too–which is what we love about them. They captured our forever memories. I recommend them to every bride & groom I meet! Thank you so so much, it was an honour & blessing having The Eastcore be a big part of our perfect day. You made it that much more perfect!

It brings me to tears every time I see the photos. And the video! We received so many in colour & black/white. It’s incredible the amount of photos we received and the quality is stunning. We can hardly chose because there are so many. Everyone we show is blown away of their artistic work & style. We love our photos so much & are so grateful we found our way to The Eastcore. They are the only memories we have of our wedding and we really couldn’t be any happier & full of love. THANK YOU! xoxox Forever & always.
From the minute we met them we knew they would be shooting our wedding. My husband is shy in front of the camera, yet they made it all feel so natural & relaxed. Their technique is unmatched from what we’ve seen out there. They deliver INCREDIBLE photos, and mini-videos.

“Absolutely gorgeous photos”

Jamieson and Dave both showed up early to take some shots of the bride and groom getting ready. Terrific experience working with both of them and they got some amazing shots! Everyone was blown away by how beautiful the Feel Reel turned out.

We had a couple of changes and updates to the timing and locations leading up to the wedding and Jamieson and Dave were very flexible and professional. Excellent experience.

Absolutely gorgeous photos and the Feel Reel was incredible! Everyone we’ve shared them with has been extremely impressed.

After shooting for years and years professionally using Canon and/or Nikon equipment, most members of the Eastcore team have switched to Sony. Check out our video below to find out why!

We want to thank Ryan & Melissa of for being our models. We will be featuring more on their story after their wedding this summer!
